Senior Commercial Real Estate Paralegal

Bishop, Dulaney, Joyner & Abner has immediate plans to expand the Commercial Real Estate Transactions group with the addition of a Senior Commercial Real Estate Paralegal.


The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a commercial real estate paralegal and will be proficient in handling the following matters:

  • Preparing organizational documents (articles, operating agreements, etc.)
  • Obtaining foreign qualification for entities
  • Preparing initial drafts of purchase and sale agreements
  • Creating and maintaining transaction checklists
  • Creating milestone date schedules for purchase and sale agreements
  • Ordering title searches and title updates
  • Reviewing and analyzing title and survey documents
  • Preparing and reviewing legal descriptions
  • Plotting legal descriptions
  • Preparing preliminary and final title opinions for review and execution by attorneys in the firm
  • Preparing title objection letters
  • Drafting simple easement agreements
  • Requesting and obtaining zoning letters
  • Drafting and revising closing documents (deeds, title affidavits, FIRPTA, 1099)
  • Drafting authorizing resolutions and certificates for complex entity structures
  • Managing closing timelines
  • Obtaining information needed to prepare settlement statements
  • Preparing and reviewing settlement statements
  • Managing closing logistics (payoffs, scheduling, etc.)
  • Coordinating distribution of closing documents
  • Reviewing final title policies
  • Creating and managing closing binders
  • Communicating regularly with clients and drafting correspondence


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and think strategically
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize assignments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
